CDS is proud to announce our First Annual Educator’s Conference! | | The workshop will provide an overview of the specific learning needs
characteristic of students with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities,
and define their academic impact. The
workshop provides all participants with the skills to recognize and implement
curricular programs that incorporate essential design elements targeting known
learning needs. Workshop attendees will
walk away with a tool kit of tips and strategies, along with practical
information to help students succeed in inclusive settings.
| About Susan Peoples | |
As an educator for over 30 years (B.S. in elementary
education and graduate studies), research clinician, author, and parent of a
child with Down syndrome, Ms. Peoples has spent the past thirteen years
exploring, evaluating, and designing
curricular materials and methods to improve the educational experience of
children with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

This
workshop is appropriate for ALL educators (public and private schools,
churches, daycares, and preschools), parents, family members,
paraprofessionals, medical
professionals, and service providers who interact with children who have
Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.
