Hi to my family and friends! Well it's Walk time again! Time for the 2012 installment of the 3-2-1 GO! Walk and I am so excited to join in the fun again this year.
First, I want to say “Thanks” for all you have helped me achieve during the past year. Second, I want you all to know how much your support of past years Walks has helped all of my friends with Down syndrome here in my hometown of Lancaster.
I am 12 now and a lot has happened since last year’s walk. I can’t believe this is my last year at Buchanan. I am really going to miss the teachers and staff who have helped me all through Elementary school. I couldn’t have done it without them. I am really going to miss Mr. Aukamp. He was my teacher in 4th grade and I was lucky enough to have again for 5th grade. He is a cool teacher. I will also miss the younger kids as I move on to a new building. I hope they don’t forget me. I am excited about moving on and the chance to make new friends. I am nervous and excited about Middle School , guess that’s typical!
Another great thing that happened since last year’s walk is that I have a new friend living with me at my house. His name is Sully and he is fast becoming my best friend. I help walk him and feed him, but my most favorite thing is throwing the ball and his toys for him. We have so much fun playing. I am getting really good at throwing and Sully is getting really good at catching. He gives me kisses all the time and likes sitting or laying in my lap and I am starting to like it too.
I am looking forward to another fun-filled summer at camp and seeing all my friends there. I love camp. I like the nature walks and the games and going to the pool. This summer will also be filled with trips to Grandma and Grandpa’s swimming pool and a visit from my big brother and his family who live in New Mexico. I can’t wait to meet my new nephew, Atlas and see his big sister, my niece Aiden.
I hope that you can come out and support me at the 3-2-1 GO! Walk at the Clipper Stadium on Saturday May, 12th. I would really like that and I know you’ll have a great time. There will be music, prizes and all kinds of fun to be had.
If you can’t make it to the walk please consider sponsoring me by making a donation to my team. All the money I raise will be put to good use for kids and adults just like me here in Lancaster and the surrounding area. You can make a donation to William’s Warriors right here at this site or join my team. Check it out and see how you can help.
Thank you so much for all of your kindness. You help to make the lives of those with Down syndrome better!
