We are so blessed to have a sweet, active and healthy little girl as part of our family who just happens to have Down syndrome. Ever since Macie was born we have received so much love and support from our friends and family and it has been a great strength to us, for which we cannot even begin to express our gratitude.
Most of you know that Down syndrome is a chromosomal disorder that affects one of every 800 live births. It is one of the leading clinical causes of intellectual disability in the world. Individuals with Down syndrome are at higher risk for medical problems and language delays. Quality educational programs, along with a stimulating home environment and good medical care, enable individuals with Down syndrome to become contributing members of their families and communities. We are committed to raising awareness about Down syndrome as well as educating people that a complete and happy life is possible for people with disabilities.
We want to walk for our daughter and all the other children with Down Syndrome on Saturday October 1st. Please come and join us on this day. You will not regret it. We are excited to tell you about the upcoming Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk benefiting the Greater Clear Lake Families Exploring Down Syndrome (GCLFEDS). We could really use your help! This is a great event that raises money and promotes awareness for individuals with Down syndrome. The funds raised (after expenses) benefit local services such as educating physicians, parents and educational professionals in our area, community outreach, and advocacy efforts. Needless to say, it promotes a cause that is close to our hearts and has been a great blessing to our family.
Thank You for donating to The ATeam. We appreciate your support and all the love you have for our daughter Macie.
