Buddy Walk Parking: This year, cars wanting to park on the Heartspring campus will be directed to enter Heartspring from the back entrance off 32nd Street. There will also be additional parking at Central Christian Church at the corner of 29th Street and Rock Road. A shuttle bus service will transport people from the church to the Buddy Walk through the front entrance of Heartspring off 29th Street. No Pet Reminder: A gentle reminder; we love our four legged friends, but we ask that you leave them at home on Saturday, October 8 for the Buddy Walk. We have many young children that may be prone to poking, prodding, or otherwise harassing your fury friend as well as those folks that need assistance walking. We would hate for there to be an incident outside your control that harms anyone or any animal. Thank you! |

And Thanks To These Generous Donors . . . | The Buddy Walk® was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to nearly 300 walks planned for 2011 worldwide. In 2010, more than $11.2 million was raised nationwide to benefit local programs and services, as well as the national advocacy and public awareness initiatives of NDSS that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome. |
