Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20.  

(Winner need not be present.)

5k participants must register online.

Onsite registration will not be available for the 5k.

Lunch along with refreshments will be provided to registered participants.

You must register in order to receive a ticket for lunch.

Up With Down Family Support Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and support of people in central Iowa with Down syndrome.  Founded in 1980 by a group of families who had the common bond of a child with Down syndrome, the group now has a membership of over 200 families throughout central Iowa.

Up With Down uses the funds raised by the Buddy Walk to support our local programs through GiGi's Playhouse.  These include age specific activities and playgroups, literacy programs, support group meetings, open play, new parent support and other awareness and advocacy programs.  Up With Down also gives a portion of the proceeds from our Buddy Walk to the NDSS to support their national education, research and advocacy programs.

The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to promote awareness and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.  The Buddy Walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to more than 300 walks expected in 2012.
