When Anna was born we had no idea what kind of ride we would be on. The first 18 months were shaky and scary, full of unknowns, surgeries and big leaps of faith. The past 12 months have been filled with more fustration than fear, but quite the ride either way. For the past 4 years though, we have all felt privalaged to be a part of this ride. We may not have asked for it, but we certainly wouldn't ask for a different one!
This will be our 5th walk that we've particiapted in here in Lincoln and each just keeps getting better and better. In 2010, we won for the team with the most walkers (by far) and we hope to be able to repeat again this year. It is so amazing to see so many people show up to celebrate Anna. It seems we spend 364 days a year working to remind people that Anna is "more alike other kids than different" but this one day we get to celebrate what makes her special. We hope you will join us in celebrating the extra chromosome that has brought together a entire community of support from around the world to our family. It won't be the same without YOU!
If you can't come and be a part of the day, you can still register to be a part of our team as a virtual walker. You'll still get a t-shirt and count toward our team. You can also help us meet our fundraising goal of $1,000 which will earn Anna three Fact Signs (like the picture above) that will be displayed along the walk path. She must raise $150 by September 9th to get a sign (limit 3).
Thanks so much for always supporting our entire family. It means the world to us.
