Capital City Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk
10th Annual Awareness & Fundraising Walk
October 1, 2011
8:00 am
Antelope Park (near 33 & A St)
Lincoln, Nebraska

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 10th annual Step up for Down Syndorme Walk such a successful event.  It was a gorgeous day for the 56 teams and 1,275 walkers that walked the 1 mile route.  We appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to help us exceed our first goal of $50,000 and almost meet our second goal of $60,000.
If you missed the walk, you can still donate on-line until October 31, 2011.

Thank You To Our Sponsors!

Ethan's Entourage - Team Captain: Eldren Echternkamp

The  DSAF of NE appreciates your support and donations!  Thank You.

We are once again getting ready to participate in the 10th Annual Step Up Walk for Down Syndrome on October 1st.  We can't believe that a year has gone by!  We hope you can be a part of Ethan's Entourage this year!!  If you can join us we would LOVE to have you walk with us.  Please consider making a donation to the Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF).  For every $150 raised Ethan will be able to earn a fact poster (up to 3).  Donations need to be turned in BY Sept. 9 in order to earn a poster.  He was SO EXCITED to see all 3 posters along the walk last year.  We hope to raise enough money so he can earn 3 posters this year as well.  This event is our annual fundraiser and it is a wonderful experience for the whole family.

We can't believe that Ethan celebrated his 5th birthday in March. He continues to AMAZE us with all of his abilities.  He is beginning to ride his bike, talking in complete sentences, knows his letters and sounds, can read 10 sight words and the biggest will be starting kindergarten.  The first day of school will be a lot harder on mom and dad than Ethan.  He is ready to have fun and learn with his friends.  His tender heart and persistence amazes us every day. Ethan has taught us SO much about successes, family and what is truly important in life!

Your participation and/or donation in the Step Up Walk also shows your support of inclusion and acceptance for people with Down syndrome and recognition of their many gifts, talents and contributions to society. We envision a bright future with your help and support.  We hope you can make the walk on October 1!

Sending you lots of hugs,

Ethan, Liz & Eldren Echternkamp
