Thank you to everyone who helped make the 10th annual Step up for Down Syndorme Walk such a successful event.  It was a gorgeous day for the 56 teams and 1,275 walkers that walked the 1 mile route.  We appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to help us exceed our first goal of $50,000 and almost meet our second goal of $60,000.
If you missed the walk, you can still donate on-line until October 31, 2011.

Thank You To Our Sponsors!

The  DSAF of NE appreciates your support and donations!  Thank You.

GO--GO--GO, Niah's Twinkle Toes!!!

Join the team, "Niah's Twinkle Toes", by Sept 9!---you know you want to!!!

Niah Sienna is over 4½ years old and enjoys dancing, swimming, books, playing ball, drums, kitchen, dolls and did I mention dancing??? She is not a complete angel, she annoys her brother, talks back to her mother and destroys the house with her numerous activities. Sounds like a typical 4½-year-old, right?  Well, she is, she just happens to have Down syndrome---she is more alike than different!

Niah rocked the fact posters that lined the walk and shared important information about individuals with Down syndrome last year. This year for every $150 we raise by Sept 9 there will be a facts poster with Niah's photo (and we all know how cute she is). Up to three signs and it all goes towards raising awareness.

If you can't come and be a part of the day, you can still register to be a part of our team as a virtual walker. You'll still get a t-shirt and help spread the word about the value of individuals with Down syndrome all over the country.

Thank you for supporting Niah Sienna and the Rief family---your past support has meant so much and has provided us with numerous educational events and family activities through DSAF Nebraska!!

- To know someone with Down syndrome is to appreciate the joys, challenges, and grit that are part of their everyday life and the lives of those who love them. To know someone with Down syndrome is to understand that life is more than conventional measures of success. We are optimistic and excited about Niah's future, we hope that you will take the same path that we do and not underestimate her potential or her understanding.
