10th Annual Awareness & Fundraising Walk

Lincoln, Nebraska |  | Thank you to everyone who helped make the 10th annual Step up for Down Syndorme Walk such a successful event. It was a gorgeous day for the 56 teams and 1,275 walkers that walked the 1 mile route. We appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to help us exceed our first goal of $50,000 and almost meet our second goal of $60,000.
If you missed the walk, you can still donate on-line until October 31, 2011.

On behalf of Sophia, we would like to invite you to the 10th Annual Step Up Walk for Down Syndrome on Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Lincoln, NE. We are so excited for Sophia to be able to walk with us this year!
Raising money for the Down Syndrome Association for Families is very near and dear to our hearts. This awesome organization has provided our family with emotional support, educational resources, many social opportunities and wonderful friendships.
Once again this year, there will be posters lining the walk path with facts about Down syndrome. For each $150 raised Sophia's picture will appear on one of these posters (limit 3). Our fundraising goal for this year is $1000. You can donate online or by mailing a check made payable to DSAF (write Sophia Nelson on the memo line) to Brian & Michelle Nelson, P.O. Box 84466, Lincoln, NE 68501. Donations must be turned in by September 9, 2011 in order for Sophia to earn fact posters.
If you register for the walk by September 9th you will receive a free t-shirt with your paid registration!
It's been 3 years since we began a journey in life that we could have never imagined was part of God's plan for us. We are so blessed with a beautiful daughter who brings so much joy and a smile to everyone she meets!
