Thank you to everyone who helped make the 10th annual Step up for Down Syndorme Walk such a successful event.  It was a gorgeous day for the 56 teams and 1,275 walkers that walked the 1 mile route.  We appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to help us exceed our first goal of $50,000 and almost meet our second goal of $60,000.
If you missed the walk, you can still donate on-line until October 31, 2011.

Thank You To Our Sponsors!

The  DSAF of NE appreciates your support and donations!  Thank You.

Dear friends and family,

Almost five years ago our little girl, Marley Jade, blazed into this world carrying an extra copy of chromosome 21.  That's right.she has `Syndrome of a Down'.  She and 400,000 of her groupies across the nation are asking you to join them this October for Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

Children with Down syndrome are in our communities every day, participating in the same schools and the same activities as other kids.  Marley rides the school bus to the ExCITE program at Campbell Elementary; she's involved in the Young Athletes Program with the Special Olympics; and she recently discovered an excitement for boating and jet skiing (thanks to a recent family vacation!). Kids with Down syndrome "are more alike than different," and quality educational programs, good medical care, and positive support from family, friends, and the community enable kids like Marley to become contributing members of society; and events like Down Syndrome Awareness Month help to foster a culture that fully accepts and includes those with Down syndrome.

On Saturday, October 1, 2011, Jeff, Maya, Marley, and I will be beatin' feet on the pavement at the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk to celebrate our loved ones who rock that extra chromosome with pride!  It is our pledge to raise $500 for the cause.  We're callin' on you, our friends and family, to visit the Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF) of Nebraska site by copying and pasting this link into your browser:

Here you can check out all the cool kids (our family is included in the slide show this year!), get all of the details, and make a donation to our team "Syndrome of a Down" (named after one of Marley's dad's favorite bands System of a Down, and coined by her Uncle Kirk-clever isn't he?)!

Your valuable contributions help sustain programs right here in the Lincoln community that contribute to the well being of those with Down syndrome.

The value of your love and participation over the years is immeasurable, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued love and support.  It means more to us than we would ever be able to express!

So, please, take a moment to check out our page, and pass this message on.

Sincerely,

The Anthens Family
