Registration for the 2016 Houston Buddy Walk is OPEN!

 

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the abilities of individuals with Down syndrome in the Houston and surrounding areas! Each year, our families and friends get together to take part in a 1 mile awareness walk that will take place on Saturday, November 12 at the Sam Houston Race Park starting at 10am.

Our supporters will have the opportunity to visit vendors, participate in carnival games, enjoy live entertainment and then walk the insidie horse track to celebrate all of our loved ones with DS!

Our loved one with DS, the team captain and teams that reach certain fundraising levels will receive complimentary shirts!

To start a team, register or DONATE, please click on register on the top and follow the prompts!

Buddy Walk has three primary goals:
1- To promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome
2- To locally raise funds for DSAH and nationally for education, research and advocacy program
3- To enhance the position of the Down syndrome community, enabling us to positively influence local and national policy and practice.

Every penny raised through the Houston Buddy Walk, helps The Down Syndrome Association of Houston provide programs and services to the Down syndrome community in the Houston and surrounding areas. Some of our programs include New Parent Support, Social Events for teens and adults, Education for Life Program, Conferences, Outreach Services, Community Groups, Adoption Awareness Program, DSAH Today, Camp For All, New Baby Baskets and much, much more!

Dates to Remember for the 2016 Buddy Walk 

Team Captain Meetings: These will be held at the DSRC located at 7115 W. Tidwell Bldg. K Suite 106 Houston TX 77092. These meetings are great for first time and veteran team captains! We also go over changes for this year and the items in the package as well as sponsorship opportunities for the Buddy Walk and what to expect the day of. You can also access our computers and sign up or turn in any donations.
